The Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI) has officially abolished the promotion and relegation system in national futsal competitions starting in the 2025/2026 season and replaced it with a closed league format based on participation licenses.
The changes were stipulated in Regulation Number 015/FFI-LGL/VII-PER/2025 which applies to the Pro Futsal League (PFL) 2025/2026 season and the Women's Pro Futsal League (WPFL) starting in 2026.
"With this new system, we want to ensure that participating clubs are managed professionally, sustainably, and have room for long-term growth," said the Secretary General of FFI Perbager in a written statement.
