Tijuana, February 6. In a ceremony held today at the Morelos barracks, Brigadier General Francisco Javier Zubia González took office and took the oath of office as Commander of the Second Military Zone. He was sent by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to strengthen security in the state.
In a brief interview with the media, the military officer said he came to coordinate with the various authorities and "wanted to contribute to the security of Baja California."
Able to face the situation
He declined to mention his priorities, which he will define once he settles in the area, although he admitted that the situation in Baja California is different from that in Morelia, Michoacán, where he is from, but the institution to which he belongs has the capacity to address the situation.
He expressed his honor for his appointment by the Secretary of National Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval; he replaces Ulises Orduña in the position.
