Chihuahua, Chih, December 17. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office ( CBP , for its acronym in English) warned about the arrival of hundreds of migrants, mostly of Venezuelan origin, who irregularly crossed the Rio Grande at the place known as gate 36 , between Ciudad Juárez and El Paso, Texas, after more than 150 people crossed the icy water on Friday , including families with children, when the region records temperatures below zero degrees.
Border Patrol agents detected groups of mobile individuals arriving consistently at the border area near Border Security Initiative (BSI) marker 36, CBP reported in a statement.
The El Paso sector warned undocumented immigrants not to listen to misinformation circulating by transnational criminal organizations
and threatened to penalize foreign nationals seeking to cross the border. Individuals and families who attempt to enter the United States without authorization and who cannot establish a legal basis to remain will be expelled and subject to a minimum five-year re-entry ban, as well as possible criminal prosecution

Between Wednesday and Thursday of this week, around 1,000 foreigners, mostly families, arrived in Ciudad Juárez on a freight train, and this Saturday another 100 arrived in the cars of a convoy that stopped at the kilometer 20 roundabout, from where they walked to the Rio Grande.
