Indonesian representatives win four titles at the Cameroon International Challenge

The Indonesian badminton team achieved brilliant results in the Cameroon International Challenge 2025 by bringing home four championship titles from the tournament held at the Gymnase Multisports de Mfandena, Yaoundé.

Indonesia dominated the singles event. Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo secured the men's singles title after defeating Dmitriy Panarin 21-13, 21-7, while Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan won the women's singles title after defeating India's Anmoll Kharb 21-11, 21-19 in the final.

"It feels great to be able to give my best for Indonesia again. The opponents here are quite tough, but I've learned a lot from every match," said Thalita in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Indonesia also dominated in doubles. Isyana Syahira Meida and Rinjani Kwinnara Nastine won the women's doubles title after defeating compatriots Nabila Cahya Permata Ayu and Nahya Muhyifa 21-15, 21-14.

Then M. Nawaf Khoiriyansyah/Nahya Muhyifa also won the mixed doubles after defeating fellow Red and White representatives Bimo Prasetya/Arlya Nabila Thesya Munggaran with a score of 21-12, 11-21, 21-19.

Indonesian team coach Prasetyo Restu Basuki said this achievement continued the positive trend following the success in Ghana the previous week, when they swept all categories and won the title.

"The boys performed with confidence and maintained their focus until the final. This result demonstrates that Indonesia's badminton regeneration is on the right track," said Prasetyo.

The Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Cameroon, Agung Cahaya Sumirat, who also presented medals to the winners, said that Indonesia's success in Yaoundé was a source of pride.

The Indonesian Embassy in Yaoundé also fully supports this event, including through its staff, Marki Sandi, who serves as an internationally certified referee, and is opening up opportunities for collaboration with the Cameroon Badminton Federation (FECABAD).

After completing a series of tournaments in Ghana and Cameroon, Indonesia will continue its journey to Nigeria to appear in the Lagos International Classics 2025 on August 27–30.
