Tasnim International News Agency reported that Baghaei answered journalists' questions during the conference, reviewing the latest diplomatic and regional developments. He said, "According to reports, more than 230 journalists have been martyred in Gaza in recent times. Today, we are hosting the family of martyr Rajab Pour, a journalist who was martyred during the imposed war."
Regarding the Palestinian issue, he stated: "Gaza is simultaneously being bombed and killed with American and European weapons, while facing a stifling famine. The number of martyrs is increasing due to the imposed starvation policy, and this is an unprecedented crime that will go down as the worst genocide in human history."
He added, "The Security Council is unable to issue even a single resolution due to US obstruction. Although all countries—according to international documents—are obligated to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, no effective action has been taken so far."
Regarding relations between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said, "Iran has repeatedly made clear its reservations about the agency's politicized conduct, and we emphasize that it must adhere solely to its technical duties, without yielding to political pressure."
Baghaei emphasized that "Iran remains a member of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Safeguards Agreement, and will fulfill its obligations as long as its membership continues." He added, "Currently, there are no inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency in Iran. Forms of cooperation must be regulated in accordance with Iranian parliamentary law, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to this."
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a war of genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The genocide, backed by the United States, left more than 206,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
On June 13, Tel Aviv, with US support, launched a 12-day aggression against Iran. Iran responded by targeting Israel with ballistic missiles and drones, before the United States declared a ceasefire on the 24th of the same month.
Tel Aviv and Tehran, the other capital, are considered their arch-enemies, and Israel's recent aggression against Iran marked a transition from a decades-long "shadow war" of bombings and assassinations to an unprecedented open hybrid war between them.
