Tijuana, June 23. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi maintained that "so far there is no 'agreement' on any ceasefire or cessation of operations" in his country.
On his X account, he published that "the military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the last minute, at 4 a.m.."
He warned that "Israel launched the war against Iran, not the other way around" and conditioned that "as long as the Israeli regime ceases its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4:00 a.m. Tehran time, we have no intention of continuing our response after that."
Trump said he would end it
On Monday afternoon, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had reached a formal agreement to implement a complete and comprehensive ceasefire, marking the end of what he called the "12-Day War."
In a post on his Truth Social platform at 6:02 p.m. on Monday, Trump congratulated both nations and revealed that the ceasefire will begin in approximately six hours, following the completion of ongoing military operations by each side. The ceasefire will initially last 12 hours, during which the opposing side will maintain a posture of "peace and respect."
