New York, June 2.- The man who killed ten African Americans and wounded three others at a Buffalo supermarket on May 14 in New York City, United States, will be arraigned Thursday afternoon on 25 charges, media reported. A grand jury indicted the white supremacist on Wednesday on charges of first-degree hate-motivated domestic terrorism, first-degree murder, second-degree murder as a hate crime, attempted second-degree murder as a hate crime, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. This is the first time a New York state grand jury has indicted a defendant on a charge of "first-degree hate-motivated domestic terrorism," according to a law enforcement source. Payton Gendron's indictment has been served on the court, and the 18-year-old defendant will be arraigned in Erie County court this afternoon, a spokesperson for the district attorney's office said. Gendron was initially charged with a single count of first-degree murder on May 19. Federal authorities in the United States are also investigating the shooting as a hate crime and a case of racially motivated violent extremism, said Stephen Belongia, special agent in charge of the FBI's field office. The suspect drove about three hours from his home to a predominantly African-American community in Buffalo on May 14 and carried out the mass shooting at a supermarket on Jefferson Avenue on the East Side.
