Yedioth Ahronoth quoted the ministry's rehabilitation department as saying that it is currently providing treatment to approximately 80,000 injured military personnel, both male and female.
The department added that approximately 26,000 of the occupation army's wounded suffer from psychological disorders, with post-traumatic stress disorder accounting for more than 33% of the wounded.
He added that more than half of its annual budget, approximately 4.2 billion shekels (about $1.2 billion), is allocated to services provided to the department's patients.

The Rehabilitation Department stressed that the number of casualties and the prevalence of suicide among military personnel represent a "major national challenge."
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 211,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that has claimed the lives of many.
