Dewa United coach Jan Olde Riekerink admitted that his team often starts the season with poor results.
Dewa, who finished second in the 2025/2026 Liga 1 season, have had a poor start to the 2025/2026 BRI Super League season. In their four matches, Dewa have recorded three losses and only one win.
In their last match, hosting Persija Jakarta at Banten International Stadium, Serang, Friday, Dewa were defeated by their guests with a 1-3 defeat.
"Of course, first of all, it's a very disappointing start to the season. Last year, I know when we were in second place, everyone was talking about winning the title. Sometimes it's easy to be in that position, but you have to work ten times harder to get to the final step. We still have a long way to go," Riekerink said at the post-match press conference.
