Professor of Food and Nutrition from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) Prof. Dr. Ali Khomsan MS said that people with kidney disorders are advised not to drink excessive amounts of water because their kidneys have experienced a decline in function.
"If you already have kidney problems, you shouldn't drink too much water because your kidneys have lost or are experiencing a reduced ability to filter fluids," Ali said when contacted.
The advantage of drinking water for kidney disease patients, he said, is that the fluid will not enter the kidneys and will actually cause health problems, so they must pay attention to the limits of drinking water consumption.
