KPK: Minister of Religion Decree Number 130/2024 is one of the pieces of evidence in the Hajj quota case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs Number 130 of 2024 concerning the Additional Hajj Quota for 1445 Hijri/2024 AD is one of the pieces of evidence in the alleged corruption case related to the Hajj quota.

"That is one piece of evidence," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Asep Guntur Rahayu, at the KPK's Red and White Building.

Asep further stated that the decree signed by former Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas on January 15, 2024, is one of several pieces of evidence in the alleged corruption case in determining the quota and organizing the Hajj pilgrimage at the Ministry of Religion for 2023-2024.

However, he said that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) was still looking for other evidence to strengthen the suspicion of corruption in this case.

"We will also delve deeper into the process of issuing the decree, because generally, for ministerial-level positions, the person concerned drafted the decree themselves or the decree was already in place," he said.

Therefore, he said that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) would investigate who gave the order for the issuance of the decree.

"Was this a bottom-up proposal , or was it a top-down order ? That's what we're currently investigating," he said.

Based on Minister of Religion Decree Number 130 of 2024, the additional Hajj quota of 20,000 people is divided into 10,000 regular Hajj quotas and 10,000 special Hajj quotas.
