The spokesperson for former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ), Anna Hasbie, emphasized that Gus Yaqut is committed to obeying the law regarding the ban on traveling abroad related to the investigation into alleged corruption in the 2024 Hajj quota by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"With full awareness and responsibility, Gus Yaqut Cholil Qoumas will comply with all applicable legal processes. As part of a society that respects the law, he affirms his commitment to cooperating with law enforcement officials to resolve this case in accordance with existing regulations," Anna said when confirmed.
Anna revealed that the person concerned had just heard from the media today regarding the KPK's ban on traveling abroad.
"Gus Yaqut Cholil Qoumas understands that the steps taken by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) are part of a necessary legal process. He emphasized that his presence in Indonesia will be tailored to the needs of the investigation, to ensure the truth is revealed transparently and fairly," he said.
Gus Yaqut, said Anna, believes that the legal process will be carried out objectively and proportionally.
He hopes that all parties can await the results of the investigation without prejudice, while providing space for law enforcement to work professionally.
"We urge the public and the media to refrain from speculation that could disrupt the legal process. Gus Yaqut Cholil Qoumas will continue to prioritize the principles of transparency and legal compliance in every step of the way," he said.
