Manchester United will begin their 2025 Carabao Cup campaign with a trip to League 2 club Grimsby Town in the second round of matches scheduled for the week commencing August 25.
The draw, held on Wednesday evening, saw United as the last team out of the draw pot, and the result took them to Blundell Park, home of Grimsby, who play in the fourth tier of the Premier League.
Elsewhere, the second round of the Carabao Cup will feature a number of exciting matches, including two all-Premier League clashes between Bournemouth and Brentford and Wolves and West Ham. Meanwhile, newly promoted Leeds United will face the winner of the match between Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday.
Everton are scheduled to host League One side Mansfield Town at Hill Dickinson Stadium, while Doncaster Rovers, who impressed with their 4-0 win over Middlesbrough, will travel to Accrington Stanley.
According to ESPN, Bromley, who stunned Ipswich Town on penalties, will face Wycombe Wanderers at home. Other matches also feature teams from various divisions, with several non-league sides getting a chance to compete on the national stage.
The nine Premier League clubs that are playing in European competition this season, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle (defending champions), Tottenham, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, will begin their competition in the third round.
