Manchester United have reportedly stopped pursuing Carlos Baleba

Manchester United (MU) have reportedly decided to stop their pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion defensive midfielder Carlos Baleba in this summer's transfer window.

According to a report by The Athletic on Saturday, Manchester United have been in contact with Brighton through intermediaries. However, Brighton have made it clear they want to keep Baleba for at least one more season.

Brighton's asking price is considered too high and beyond United's transfer budget, which still needs to sell several players to balance the club's finances.

Baleba, a Cameroonian midfielder, joined Brighton in 2023 and has made 61 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals. Despite his young age, Baleba is believed to have great potential for future development.
