Tijuana, November 14. After nine months of reconstruction work, Calle 12 in the Mesa de Otay industrial zone was inaugurated this Tuesday. According to Tijuana Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, "in conjunction with the private sector, it will transform the lives of at least 7,000 truck drivers who cross the international border daily."
In a press release, he highlighted that the Otay customs office, through which more than 4,000 exports are processed daily, is the second largest customs office in the country. He reported that 40 million pesos were invested in reconstructing the road with hydraulic concrete, located between Bellas Artes Boulevard and the International Border in the Chilpancingo neighborhood.
He recalled that "Tijuana not only benefits more than 40,000 residents with this project, but also residents of the entire city and visitors with projects such as the construction of the Elevated Viaduct and the new Otay II Port of Entry, which will be completed before the end of his administration, as promised by the President of the Republic during his recent visit," the bulletin stated.
"The project not only cost money, but also time, effort, and trust, because at the beginning of the administration, the private sector was unfamiliar with it, but we worked together and achieved it with local companies," he said.
