Tijuana, April 18.- Members of the migrant community held a symbolic Stations of the Cross this Friday, beginning at the Avenida Revolución arch and ending at the Chaparral border crossing.
People on the move wrote messages and the names of their loved ones on the body of Christ and then carried the cross together throughout the journey.
The director of the Youth 2000 Movement, José María García Lara, mentioned that they carry out this Stations of the Cross as a means of raising awareness in society and conveying that all migrant communities seek better opportunities in life and have endured tremendous hardships in their places of origin.
She noted that on their journey they suffer severe abuse, robbery, hunger, thirst, everything that comes with having to flee your home due to violence, which is why they are joining together to call on local and U.S. authorities.
