Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo expressed his appreciation for the BPK PENABUR's commitment to advancing Indonesian chess achievements.
A total of 251 participants from Indonesia, Russia, Hong Kong, Japan, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Malaysia are ready to try out the BPK PENABUR Asian Zone 3.3 Schools Chess Competition 2025 tournament.
"The more chess championships held, the more PB Percasi indirectly develops national leadership with character," Dito said in an official statement on Friday.
Chess teaches independence, courage, innovation, and positive thinking when competing, said Dito.
"These traits will make these young chess athletes born into future leaders with the character this nation needs in the future," he said.
KONI Chairman Marciano Norman appreciated the steps taken by PB Percasi and BPK PENABUR in developing chess players and producing proud achievements for Indonesia.
