Los Angeles, January 13. About 92,000 people are under evacuation orders due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, and another 89,000 have received evacuation alerts, said Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna.
At least 24 people are dead and more than 12 are still missing as multiple wildfires ravage the Los Angeles area.
Intense wildfires in Los Angeles County , fueled by severe drought conditions and strong winds, have scorched more than 40,500 acres (16,389.76 hectares) and destroyed more than 12,300 structures.
The Palisades Fire , the largest of the blazes, is 14 percent contained, and the Eaton Fire, the second largest, is 33 percent contained, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) said.
More than 80,000 customers in California are without power, while Southern California Edison is beginning to shut off electricity in parts of Southern California ahead of the next wind event, which begins Tuesday, January 14
