During Xi Jinping's reign, "reform" has become a means for leaders to maintain long-term stability and prosperity. It has nothing to do with the market-oriented approach proposed by Deng Xiaoping at the Third Plenary Session of the 1978 Central Committee. "Strike Back Against Crime" has traditionally meant dismantling gangs and other delinquent elements within and outside the Party. However, in recent decades, the CCP dictatorship has interpreted it as eliminating all opposition to "unified authority." Professor Zhang declared: If language corruption in mainland China were reduced by half, people's analytical and judgment skills would improve, and corrupt officials within the Party and government would decrease by as much as 80 percent.
In addition to "reform" and "cracking down on crime", the CCP has invented countless linguistic loopholes and traps in the past 20 years, including "making irresponsible remarks about the central government", "four self-confidences", "two safeguards", "self-improvement", and giving the people "a greater sense of gain" in the field of party building; "internal and external circulation", "supply-side reform" in the economic field; and "community of shared destiny", "rise of the East and decline of the West" and other inexplicable remarks and contexts in diplomacy.
