The West Bank governorates are witnessing widespread public activities, accompanied by a partial strike called for by national and Islamic forces, starting at 11:30 a.m. and continuing until 1:00 p.m., in expression of solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been facing a war of extermination and starvation that has been ongoing for months, according to what was reported by the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).
The Supreme National Committee for the "August 3rd" event stated that this day represents a new milestone in reclaiming the popular and humanitarian role in confronting the ongoing war of extermination, and in raising the Palestinian voice loudly, alongside the free people of the world, in defense of human values that are being severely tested in light of the Israeli aggression.
In Lebanon, the Palestine Liberation Organization called on the Palestinian people, their national forces, and their popular institutions to participate widely in solidarity activities in support of Gaza's steadfastness and in recognition of the sacrifices of the male and female prisoners in the occupation's prisons.
For its part, Hamas called on the Palestinian people in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, on Saturday to escalate their popular movement and participate broadly in field events, "to confront settler attacks and support the Gaza Strip, which is facing a war of extermination."
She stressed the "need to confront settlement attacks with all force, and to ignite anger in all areas of the West Bank, to deter the occupation and its settlers and put an end to these heinous crimes."
The movement's call came after a new crime occurred on Saturday evening, in which a Palestinian was killed and eight others were injured by Israeli settlers' gunfire in the town of Aqraba, south of Nablus.
Hamas called on Palestinians to "massively participate in the field movement and demonstrations in support of Gaza, which is being subjected to an unjust war of extermination and starvation, and to stand united to protect Islamic holy sites, foremost among them Al-Aqsa Mosque."
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The US-backed genocide left more than 209,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that claimed the lives of many.
