San Juan de Sabinas, Coah., Relatives of the miners trapped in the Pasta de Conchos coal mine went from excitement at learning that after 18 years, a rescue was possible with the recovery of the bone segments of one of the workers, to anguish and frustration upon learning that no more remains had been found at the site.
The recovery of parts of one of the miners last Friday raised hopes that more would soon be found; however, according to the families, the Attorney General's Office ( FGR ) has decided to pause the search to complete the necessary procedures to transfer the recovered material to Saltillo.
The families were not adequately informed about this. We were told the Attorney General's Office was going to take a break, but they didn't tell us where the remains were taken
, said Elvira Martínez Espinoza, widow of Vladimir Muñoz Delgado, one of the trapped miners.
Spokespeople do not answer the phones
