President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo asserted that the United States must do its part to reduce drug demand and distribution within its territory; at the same time, she emphasized that her administration will always defend former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
At this Monday's morning press conference at the National Palace, the head of the Executive stated that drug trafficking has to do with demand . "In other words, there is demand for a drug, and there are those who supply that drug."
He emphasized that his administration will deliver results in security and announced that tomorrow, during the presentation of the security cabinet report, it will be announced that last January "was the lowest in intentional homicides" for that month in recent years.
“Beyond the fact that we don't agree with drug trafficking and that we do our job, our goal is to reduce violence in the country , and in that process, also reduce the production and distribution of certain drugs. What we want is peace and tranquility for the people of Mexico. That's why the priority of the security cabinet's objectives is to stop the perpetrators of violence.”
