PSIM Yogyakarta coach Jean-Paul van Gastel said his team is showing positive progress ahead of facing Persebaya Surabaya in the first week of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
Quoted from the club's official website, Thursday, Van Gastel said the adaptation efforts of PSIM Yogyakarta players who previously competed in Liga 2 went very smoothly.
The Dutch coach explained that PSIM Yogyakarta can't wait to play against Persebaya Surabaya and experience the atmosphere at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium.
"The team's progress so far has been to help the players from League 2 adapt to the different intensity now that we're in the Super League," said Van Gastel.
"For me, playing with a large audience watching boosts my morale and gets my adrenaline pumping. I really enjoy the game," he said.
