Salvadoran migrant dies while allegedly trying to flee a raid

Monterrey, NL., 14 A Salvadoran migrant died early yesterday morning after falling from the tenth floor of the Yamallel hotel, located in downtown Monterrey, while allegedly trying to avoid being arrested during a raid by the National Migration Institute (INM) and the Civil Force of Nuevo León.

According to the official report, at 2:37 a.m., a report was received that the woman had died at the establishment, located at the intersection of Zaragoza and Arteaga streets.

The State Investigation Agency reported that when its personnel arrived, they found Yenifer Flores, between 25 and 30 years old and originally from El Salvador, dead on the third-floor terrace.

According to the initial investigation and the hotel employees' statements, members of the INM (National Institute of Migration) and the Civil Force (Fuerza Civil) arrived at around 12:30 a.m., carrying a search warrant for undocumented immigrants staying at the property.
