Chihuahua, Chih . Two police officers from the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM) of Ciudad Juárez will be investigated for alleged abuse of authority and assaults against two students from Technical Secondary School 93, following videos circulating on social media in which they are seen beating a teenager while he is handcuffed during an arrest outside the school.
In one of the videos, a young man is seen being subdued and hit on the head by one of the officers, sparking discontent among other students who confront the police.
Witnesses reported that the detained teenager ran when he saw the patrol car approaching, the police caught up with him and subdued him.
SSPM spokesman Adrián Sánchez Contreras announced that the officers will face an internal investigation, following instructions from the head of the corporation, César Omar Muñoz Morales.
