Tijuana.- On May 9, the Senate of the Republic received notification from the Guadalajara Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal (TEPJF) reversing the reinstatement of former Governor Jaime Bonilla Valdez as a legislator.
This was announced by Senate President Olga Sanchez Cordero through her social media channels.
"We just received, a few moments ago, notification from the Guadalajara Regional Chamber of the court, ruling that the reinstatement of Jaime Bonilla Valdez to the position of Senator of the Republic is void," he wrote.
As is known, last Thursday, judges of the Electoral Tribunal ruled on an appeal by the National Action Party, finding that Jaime Bonilla held two positions simultaneously: acting governor and senator on leave.
Sánchez Cordero said that in compliance with the resolution, he will inform the Plenary and the governing bodies for the corresponding effects.
He added that this is independent of the appeal that Senator Bonilla filed against this ruling.
