The first week of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League season will begin on Friday (August 8), marking the return of local football competition.
As reported on the official I.League website, Thursday, the first week of the Super League will begin with a match between Borneo FC and Bhayangkara FC at Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, Friday at 15.30 WIB.
Meanwhile, the 2025/2026 Super League competition will be officially opened with a match between Persebaya Surabaya and PSIM Yogyakarta at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Friday at 7:00 PM WIB.
Persebaya Surabaya, which is the fourth-placed team in the final standings of Liga 1 2024/2025, will be challenged by PSIM Yogyakarta, which has the status of being the champion of Liga 2 2025/2025.
Ahead of this match, both teams are being handled by new coaches, Eduardo Perez with Persebaya Surabaya, while PSIM Yogyakarta is being coached by a new face, Jean-Paul van Gastel.
Both teams are certain to be eager to secure full points when the 2025/2026 Super League season begins, and the match is expected to be exciting.
Defending champions Persib Bandung are scheduled to begin their 2025/2026 Super League campaign by hosting Semen Padang at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium in Bandung on Saturday (9/8) at 15.30 WIB.
Persib Bandung is still managed by coach Bojan Hodak, but no longer has the strength of the players who won the title in the previous two seasons and is now filled with many new faces.
The situation is not much different for Semen Padang, which still retains Portuguese tactician Eduardo Almeida and has added several new players.
