Taiwan will hold a recall vote on 24 Kuomintang (KMT) legislators on the 26th. The Constitution of the Republic of China and the Election and Recall Law clearly stipulate that representatives can be recalled through a process of public proposal, petition, and vote. The Legislative Yuan has 113 seats, with 51 for the Democratic Progressive Party, 52 for the Kuomintang, 8 for the People's Party, and 2 for independents. The civil society groups campaigning for the recall believe that the Blue and White faction's performance in the Legislative Yuan has exceeded the scope of normal oversight and question whether they are pro-China and pro-Taiwan. However, the Blue and White faction argues that the DPP simply refuses to accept its current minority status in Congress.
