Last fall (October 24, 2024), the House Oversight and Accountability Committee (COA) of the U.S. Congress published a 300-page report, "CCP Political Warfare: Federal Agencies Urgently Need a Government-wide Strategy." The report identified five areas of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) political warfare that the United States faces, yet many government agencies remain unaware of them. The COA called for the swift development of a government-wide response and for society-wide awareness of the threats facing the United States.
The report lists five areas in which the CCP is waging "political warfare" against the United States:
First, unrestricted and disintegration warfare. The report directly quotes two books from the Chinese Communist Party’s military, “Unrestricted Warfare” and “Disintegration Warfare,” pointing out that the CCP is implementing the plans proposed in these two books to attack the United States. The former proposes using various combat methods that go beyond legal and moral bottom lines to defeat the United States, while the latter proposes to disintegrate the United States in six aspects (politics, public opinion, economy, psychology, intelligence, and strategy).
Second, the report comprehensively analyzes how the CCP uses the "united front," which it considers one of the three magic weapons to defeat its enemies.
Third, elite capture. The report lists how influential figures in American politics, business, and academia are willing to speak for the Chinese Communist Party. The existence of this group of people poses a threat to American security.
