The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) said the distribution of additional Hajj quota deviated from the President's intentions.

The Corruption Eradication Commission stated that the distribution of additional Hajj quotas in 2024 deviates from the initial intention of Joko Widodo as President of the Republic of Indonesia, who requested additional quotas from the Saudi Arabian government.

"Based on the President's initial intention in coming there to request a quota, the initial intention and reason was to shorten the waiting time for regular Hajj pilgrims," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Asep Guntur Rahayu, at the KPK's Red and White Building.

Asep explained that during his leadership, Jokowi requested an additional Hajj quota to reduce the waiting time for regular Hajj pilgrims, which had reached more than 15 years.

"However, that's not what happened. It ended up being split 50 percent, 50 percent, and so on. That was a far cry from the original intention," he said.
