The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) explained the reason for searching the Ministry of Health Office on Tuesday (12/8), because it was related to the alleged corruption case of the regional general hospital construction project in East Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, which used special allocation funds (DAK).
"What's the connection? It's because the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) funds come from the Ministry of Health, and the designs come from the Ministry of Health. So, the hospital meets the requirements," said Asep Guntur Rahayu, Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), at the KPK's Red and White Building.
Asep further explained that the Ministry of Health played a role in supplying equipment for the Regional General Hospital construction project in East Kolaka.
"For example, a dental clinic requires dental equipment, a cardiac clinic requires equipment, and so on. So, the designs of these rooms must be appropriate. The Ministry of Health is responsible for the design," he explained.
In addition, he said the search was carried out because the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) had named a Ministry of Health civil servant (ASN) as a suspect in the case.
Previously, on August 9, 2025, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) announced five suspects in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Regional General Hospital in East Kolaka.
The five suspects are the Regent of East Kolaka for the 2024–2029 period Abdul Azis (ABZ), the person responsible for the construction of the Andi Lukman Hakim Regional General Hospital (ALH) at the Ministry of Health, the official who made the commitment for the East Kolaka Regional General Hospital construction project, Ageng Dermanto (AGD), and two employees of PT Pilar Cerdas Putra, namely Deddy Karnady (DK) and Arif Rahman (AR).
Deddy Karnady and Arif Rahman are accused of giving bribes, while Abdul Azis, Andi Lukman Hakim, and Ageng Dermanto are accused of receiving bribes.
The alleged corruption case related to the construction of the Regional General Hospital in East Kolaka is the upgrade of Class D Regional General Hospital facilities to Class C with a project value of IDR 126.3 billion sourced from special allocation funds (DAK).
