The MacBook Pro with the M5 chip probably won't launch until 2026

Apple will likely not launch a MacBook Pro with an M5 chip until at least 2026, according to the latest research note from Apple supply chain analyst Ming Chi Kuo.

Kuo's note aligns with a report by Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman that Apple is considering delaying the launch of the next MacBook Pro with the M5 chip series.

the Cupertino, United States-based company was previously reported to be planning to release a MacBook Pro with an M5 chip in late 2025.

In his notes, Kuo, among other things, discusses how the A20 chip in the iPhone 18 models will be packaged with Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM) technology.

This technology integrates so-called “ underfill and molding processes ” for more efficient manufacturing and increased yield, a term that refers to the percentage of functional chips that can be obtained per silicon wafer.
