Indonesian 3x3 national team manager John Nawawi confirmed that the results of the 3x3 national team's national selection will not disrupt the schedule of Indonesian Basketball League players selected for the national team.
According to him, eight male basketball players were selected from a total of 24 players who were called to take part in the national selection, specifically to be prepared for the 2025 Thailand SEA Games.
After that, they will be evaluated by the Central Executive Board of the All-Indonesia Basketball Association (DPP Perbasi) through the National Team Body (BTN).
"Because until the SEA Games, the IBL as a competition has no agenda other than the IBL All Indonesia which will only be held until the end of August, so automatically the 3x3 national team will be more of a national duty for the selected players," said John when contacted from Jakarta on Tuesday.
John said the IBL also released a schedule for the 2026 season so players still have time to prepare for their clubs after participating in the SEA Games in December 2025.
"Yes, the IBL schedule will likely be the same as last year, starting in mid-January, so players can still focus on the national team and then go to their clubs," he said.
