PT PLN is collaborating with the Kompas Daily to hold the PLN Electric Run 2025 running competition at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang, Banten, on November 2, targeting 7,500 runners.
"This event is not just a running competition, but we want to further raise public awareness, especially among runners, to participate in the movement to reduce carbon emissions," said PT PLN (Persero) Corporate Secretary Alois Wisnuwardana at the launch of the PLN Electric Run 2025 in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The race, themed "Recharge As One," is the third edition since 2023 and features 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km (half marathon) categories.
The two previous editions were held at Scientia Square Park, Gading Serpong, Tangerang.
Wisunwardana explained that this competition has developed into a symbol of a collective movement that combines the spirit of sport, innovation, and environmental conservation as PLN's ongoing efforts to support the energy transition towards Net Zero Emissions by 2060.
Organizers estimate carbon emissions prevention of up to 21,812 kilograms.
