Mexicali, November 23.- Continuing with the review of the first report on the activities of the Executive Branch, the Education, Culture, Science and Technology Commission of the XXIV Legislature, chaired by Representative Dunnia Montserrat Murillo López, received the head of the Ministry of Education (SE), Gerardo Arturo Solís Benavides, who reported that the New Mexican School approach is being addressed in Baja California.
During his presentation, the head of the Ministry of Education indicated that the educational population for the 2022-2023 school year is 1,031,158 students, in elementary, high school, higher education, job training, and other educational services. They are served in 4,900 schools by 63,000 teachers.
He explained that within the framework of this new educational model, inclusion, diversity, equal opportunities, non-discrimination, educational tolerance, and improvement of educational environments are guaranteed.
Solís Benavides presented his Strategic Education Plan, which includes Excellent Basic Education; Quality Upper Secondary Education Linked to the Productive Sector; Higher Education as a Lever for Sustainable Development; Science, Technology, and Educational Innovation; and Teachers as Leaders of Transformation.
She also noted that an agreement was signed with UNICEF to provide educational services to the foreign migrant population. Additionally, she indicated that host schools are being trained to include migrant children through CAENA, and that Radix teachers are being trained to use a language platform for children and adolescents in migration situations.
