The 2025 Asia Woodball Cup or 13th Asian Cup Woodball Championship 2025 was officially opened at the JSI Resort, Megamendung, Bogor, West Java, featuring Indonesian cultural performances.
A total of 213 athletes from nine participating countries joined in the euphoria of the opening ceremony. Participants were treated to traditional dances and participated in angklung playing, guided by artists from Saung Angklung Udjo.
"The guests were very pleased with the extraordinary welcome. They also assessed the committee's preparations as neat and professional. In fact, this opening ceremony surprised them because it was different from previous championships," said Aang Sunadji, Chairman of the Indonesian Woodball Association (PB IWbA).
Aang added that the performance of Indonesian culture at the opening ceremony left a deep impression on participants from abroad.
"They said this would be a benchmark for future events. For us, this is actually a catalyst for other countries to do even better in the future," he said.
