Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said that President Prabowo Subianto will soon issue a new presidential regulation (perpres) regarding the Hajj Organizing Agency (BP) if the Bill on the Organization of the Hajj and Umrah Pilgrimages is approved and passed into law.
"Definitely," said Prasetyo, who is also the Indonesian Presidential Spokesperson, briefly when asked about the issuance of a new presidential regulation regarding BP Haji.
On the same occasion, Prasetyo also hoped that if the Hajj Bill is passed, the implementation of the Hajj will be better in the future.
"There's only one clear hope: that the implementation of the Hajj will be even better," Prasetyo said when met on the sidelines of his Merdeka Run 8.0K event in Jakarta on Sunday, responding to reporters' questions about the Hajj Bill, which will be passed on Tuesday.
Pras, as he is popularly known, did not elaborate on the details of the Hajj Bill. He simply responded, "It's being finalized in the DPR."
Over the past few days, including this weekend, Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives has been accelerating discussions on the Hajj Bill, hoping that it will be approved and ratified in the Plenary Session at the MPR, DPR, and DPD RI Complex.
Therefore, Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) held several meetings, including with the Regional Representative Council to hear considerations regarding the Bill on the Implementation of the Hajj and Umrah Pilgrimages. The meeting, which was open to the public, lasted approximately 20 minutes.
