Tijuana, May 30. There are two ways to regularize properties in the town of Maclovio Rojas. One will issue 400 property titles to families who have resided there for more than 15 years and occupy lots no larger than 250 square meters. The other will provide support for the land payment, which includes a 17 million peso contribution from the state government.
The Secretary General of the Baja California Government, Alfredo Álvarez Cárdenas, reported that this is part of the agreements reached during the meeting held last Tuesday with residents of Maclovio Rojas and the federal government, after the evacuation of the Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) facilities in Playas de Rosarito.
During the press conference held this Wednesday by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the official reported that the land titling schemes were agreed upon between the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (Sedatu), the state, and the assembly of ejidatarios.
He announced that the family census is currently being conducted—with the participation of the ejidatarios assembly—and is expected to conclude on June 28.
