Mexicali, June 2.—Several activists placed the name of their missing relative on the ballot this Sunday.
One case was that of Soraya Anna Villarreal, who entered the name of her missing son, Kevin Moreno, in the unregistered candidate space.
Her husband, Juan Gonzalo Moreno, did the same.
"In my 5th District, there are no suitable options or profiles. Yes to crossover voting, I vote in protest," said the activist from the Baja California Forced Disappearance Search and Investigation Unit.
Young Kevin Moreno has been missing for two years, just one of the 10 cases linked to the Shots bar, which was closed in Mexicali.
Activist Juan Gonzalo Moreno stated that there are no viable options in these elections and that the issue of the disappeared remains a matter of concern to the current authorities.
However, he invited citizens to express their feelings at the polls.
