Tijuana mayor delivers financial support to 150 families

Tijuana, August 31. Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez delivered 150 financial grants to the same number of families through the Tijuana Department of Welfare's program, Building Well-being for All.

"This support represents a breath of fresh air on the path to continued hope, because we will no longer have to borrow or take out loans that charge us triple the price and ultimately send us to the credit bureau," said Caballero Ramírez.

The mayor noted that everyone can experience unexpected situations at some point: "Our paychecks didn't arrive, we lost our jobs, we got sick, we don't know what life has in store for us; the important thing is to keep going." However, she also emphasized the gratification of knowing that Tijuana was the municipality in the state that earned first place in lifting its citizens out of extreme poverty thanks to programs like Building Well-being for All, in addition to being the government that has provided the most support to its citizens in all of Baja California.

"The reason is very simple, I come from the working class, this way I understand the problems that families face, that's why it's easier to create these programs, because most of them are based on the needs we have had, because I know perfectly well what it feels like to have nothing and what it's like to have very little, that's why we will work until the last day of the administration as if it were the first, because it's a great opportunity to have the responsibility of governing for the people of Tijuana," asserted the mayor.
