Mexicali, October 4.- Members of the Mexicali Civic Front (FCM) symbolically closed and attacked with eggs , water balloons and rotten tomatoes the facilities of the Federal Electricity Commission ( CFE ) due to the power outage to the aqueduct that supplies drinking water to the coastal area of the state.
Sergio Tamai and members of various civil organizations held a rally at the CFE facilities , located on Lázaro Cárdenas and Benito Juárez boulevards, to protest against the increase in domestic rates for high-consumption users and against the insensitive officials who cut off the "power" to the aqueduct located in Rosita in Mexicali and which supplies water to Tijuana, Tecate and Rosarito Beach.
First, Tamai placed a padlock on the main door as a symbolic closure of the facilities. Later, they burned two piñatas, the first bearing the name "Insensitive CFE Officials in BC" and the second bearing a photograph of Manuel Bartlett, head of the federal agency.
After burning the piñatas, the FCM leader called in the "aquatic," "poultry," and "agricultural" squadrons to " bomb" the CFE facilities , for which they threw bags of eggs, spoiled tomatoes, and water balloons at the federal agency's windows.
