Tijuana, June 21.- A man was shot and killed by a municipal police officer while allegedly attempting to rob a home in the Villas del Campo neighborhood.
According to initial reports, a resident reported that a person, allegedly under the influence of some substance and carrying a knife, had entered his neighbor's home. Municipal Police officers attempted to speak with the alleged offender, but were unsuccessful.
The alleged robber attempted to attack a police officer by lunging at him, prompting the officer to repel the attack by shooting him at least three times. Despite first aid from Red Cross paramedics, the man died at the scene.
The incident occurred before noon this Friday in the Villas del Campo subdivision, between Agrícola and Hades streets.
