Tijuana will have its first Legal Book Fair

Tijuana, August 27. The first Legal Book Fair will be held in Tijuana from September 1 to 5 , organized by the Legal Research Institute (IIJ) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

The event was presented by Juan Vega Gómez, head of the Northwest Research and Teaching Station (ENID). Also participating were María de Jesús Góngora, head of the academic section; Wendy Vanessa Rocha Cacho, technical secretary of the institute; and Illya Haro, Secretary of Culture of Tijuana.

During the presentation, Vega Gómez noted that there are several important book fairs in the city, but none focus on legal topics . He also emphasized that there are multiple institutions in the city offering law degrees and bar associations.

The objective of this fair is " to bring legal knowledge to society from the border," explained Góngora, providing details of the program, which will include 20 activities, including 11 book presentations and five roundtable discussions with law school directors. The head of the academic section stated that the program is aimed at students, professors, researchers, litigants, public officials, journalists, and the general public.
