Children can achieve neat teeth growth from an early age without having to wait for braces.
One step that can be taken is myofunctional therapy which focuses on improving the function of the oral muscles to support optimal jaw and tooth growth.
"Muscular problems in a child's mouth can only be effectively modified during growth. Therefore, a myofunctional approach is highly recommended from an early age," said Pediatric Dentistry Specialist Drg. Priska Angelia Budiono, Sp.KGA, in Tangerang in a statement on Thursday.
This therapy can begin as early as four years old, even before permanent teeth emerge. Methods include muscle training, proper tongue positioning, and swallowing and breathing correction.
