Boxer Elif Nur Turhan scored a knockout (KO) against Rima Ayadi to win the interim World Boxing Association women's super featherweight (58.9 kg) world title in Enghien-les-Bains, France.
"Turhan's sharp combination of attacks left Ayadi helpless, so the referee immediately intervened and awarded him a knockout victory in the sixth round," the WBA said on the association's official website, which was monitored.
From the moment the bell rang, Turhan made it clear that he was determined to win the title.
With steady pressure and powerful body shots, Turhan managed to take down Ayadi, who tried to block him with a jab but was unable to stop the Turkish fighter's progress.
The home favorite boxer couldn't find a solution as his opponent got stronger with each round.
