Two puppies rescued from illegally selling near the San Ysidro border crossing.

Tijuana, August 29.- Tijuana municipal inspectors rescued two puppies yesterday that were being sold illegally near the San Ysidro border crossing, after the seller fled upon detecting the presence of authorities.

The operation took place during a routine inspection in the area, when personnel from the Inspection and Verification Directorate detected a person attempting to sell the animals on public roads.

Upon noticing the inspectors' presence, he fled the scene, leaving the dogs on the street, explained José Antonio Olivas Heredia, head of the Inspection and Verification Directorate, who added that the puppies were immediately taken into custody to ensure their well-being and prevent animal abuse.

Olivas Heredia emphasized that the municipal government maintains a "zero-tolerance policy" toward the illegal sale of animals and any form of abuse, which results in the issuance of administrative reports and the protection of rescued animals.
