The Vietnam U-21 women's national volleyball team secured their second victory at the 2025 U-21 Women's World Volleyball Championship by defeating Serbia 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23) in their second Pool A match at the Jawa Pos Arena in Surabaya, East Java.
After beating the host Indonesia, Vietnam, with high confidence, was able to put in a solid performance.
Captain Thi Hong Dang was the star of the match. The 18-year-old played a key role, contributing a total of 18 points for Vietnam.
Starting the first set, Vietnam played an open game from Serbia, who tried to launch a number of attacks.
Vietnam slowly but surely took advantage of Serbia's lax coordination between the lines after securing four consecutive points, 12-9.
In a commanding position, Vietnam played calmly, and Thi Hong Dang's moves proved too difficult for Serbia to counter. Vietnam ultimately secured victory in the first set, 25-21.
In the second set, Serbia did not allow Vietnam to gain any tempo of the game.
With focused attacks, Serbia made it extremely difficult for Vietnam to build an attack. Serbia took a six-point lead, 16-10.
Vietnam actually tried to equalize the score, but Serbia showed a solid game which secured a 25-23 victory.
