Mexico City, September 5. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador recommended that those within his party who are still waiting for a signal regarding the 2024 electoral process find a seat to wait and not tire themselves out .
During the morning press conference, he was asked about who the possible candidates for the Mexico City government could be , and several names were given: Clara Brugada, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, Martí Batres, and Gerardo Fernández Noroña, to which he said any of them because " there are no hidden agendas anymore " and everyone has a right to do so.
However, he asserted that there are still those within his movement who think that there will be practices like those that occurred in previous six-year terms .
"Look how habit—as the song says—is stronger than love, and there are still some, even those closest to us , who are waiting for a sign . But they're going to stay waiting for the sign, to sit down, to find a chair, so they don't tire themselves out waiting for the sign, there won't be a sign. It's the citizens, it's the people, it's the nation, it's democracy," the head of the federal executive branch emphasized.
