The US State Department added in a post on its X account that a "small number" of temporary visas for medical and humanitarian purposes had been issued in recent days, without announcing specific numbers.
The US State Department's decision came after far-right activist and Trump ally Laura Loomer posted on social media on Friday that Palestinian "refugees" had entered the United States this month.
Loomer's statement angered some Republicans, with Representative Randy Fein of Florida calling the move a "national security threat."
The US decision also comes after the Israeli government approved, on August 8, a plan proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reoccupy the entire Gaza Strip. This plan would begin with the occupation of Gaza City and displace approximately one million Palestinians to the south.
