Tijuana, August 13.– Pablo Edwin Huerta Nuño, alias El Flakito, one of the main operators of the Arellano Félix Cartel in Baja California, was extradited yesterday to the United States along with 25 other high-profile criminals.
Among the most notable are Abigael González Valencia, leader of Los Cuinis and brother-in-law of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG); Servando Gómez Martínez, known as La Tuta, former head of La Familia Michoacana; Daniel Pérez Rojas, known as El Cachetes, founder of Los Zetas; and Juan Carlos Félix Gastélum, known as El Chavo Félix, son-in-law of Ismael El Mayo Zambada and in charge of finances for that faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Who is El Flakito?
Huerta Nuño was arrested on June 17 during a search of his home in the Fundadores neighborhood of Tijuana, led by personnel from the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMO) and Mexican Army personnel.
Government data indicates that El Flakito is considered one of the main drivers of violence in Baja California, where the Arellano Félix organization, in alliance with the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), is fighting over trafficking routes to the United States, as well as local distribution areas with the Sinaloa Cartel.
